    Vintage portrait photograph of actress Pola Negri, struck circa 1950s, to publicize the 1920 German film. With the stamps of King Features Syndicate and Mirror Magazine on the verso, and holograph pencil annotations regarding layout.
    Loosely based on a pantomime by Friedrich Freksa, following a sheikh's prized slave girl's forbidden love for a cloth merchant. A widely popular release in both Germany and the US, and a film which helped elevate both Negri and director Ernst Lubitsch to star status in both countries.
    Set in an unnamed fictional city in the Middle East.
